Passenger arrested for possessing fake passport

Tiruchirapalli, Aug 14: Airport police arrested a 36-year-old air passenger on the charge of possessing a fake passport, soon after he arrived at the international airport here from Singapore on Wednesday, Aug 13.

According to police, C Devaraj of Vashistapuram in Cuddalore district obtained a passport in the name of S Kadirgamam in 1997. Using the passport, he went to Singapore where he worked for several years.

After he landed here, the immmigration authorities who examined his passport found it to be forged.

He was handed over to the airport police, who arrested him, police said.
