BSF seizes goods worth in crore from Tripura border
Agartala, Aug 10: The BSF jawans had seized a large quantity of ganja, saree, other garments, forest produce and phensidyl worth Rs 1.55 crore from various borders of the state in the last one month.
They also apprehended 33 each, Indian and Bangladeshi nationals, while illegally crossing at various places on the Indo-Bangladesh border.
The BSF officials said here today that following the seizure of contrabands, the authority had increased surveillance in Kamalsagar, Ashabari, Kalsimura, Dhanpur, Kullubari, Srimantapur, Srinagar and Amlighat border points, while extra forces had been deployed along the 856-km border with Bangladesh on the eve of the Independence Day.
