Top Al-Badr commander, two civilians killed in encounter
Srinagar Aug 9 (UNI) A self styled Battalion Commander of Al-Badr and two civilians were killed in a fierce encounter in north Kashmir this afternoon, a police spokesman said this evening.
Earlier the spokesman said all the deceased persons were militants.
He said security forces conducted a search operation at village Danwan Toosa-Maidan Tangmarg following a tip off about the presence of militants.
During the operation an encounter took place in which the Al-Badr Commander Mohd Sultan Bhat alias Usman was killed. Two civilians Nazir Ahmed Khan and Shafi Ahmed Khan were also killed.
