Chennai to host Japanese film festival from August 12
Chennai, Aug 8 (UNI) A three-day Japanese film festival, in commemoration of the Indo-Japan Film Festival year, will be here from August 12 to 14.
Mr Kazuo Minagawa, Consul-General of Japan in Chennai, will inaugurate the festival, jointly organised by the Consulate General of Japan in Chennai and the Indo-Cine Appreciation Foundation, a release from the Consualte said.
Five films - Swing Girls, Doraemon the Move-Nobita's Dinosaur, First Love, Ghost Pub and My Sons - would be screened in the festival at the South Indian Film Chamber of Commerce auditorium, the release said.
Industrialist R Veeramani, President of Indo-Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Mr John Prabhakar, President of Indo-Polish Chamber of Commerce and Industry, would be the guests of honour, and actor Sujitha would light the lamp.
