Arasu Cable TV threatens legal action against Sun, Sony, Star
Chennai, Aug 4 (UNI) The Tamil Nadu government owned Arasu Cable TV Corporation today threatened to take legal action against Sun network, Sony and Star network for refusing to give signals.
An official release here said after the launch on July 15, Arasu Cable TV Corporation was providing 73 channels to the customers at the nominal rate of Rs 100 per month, but could not provide channels of Sun Network, Sony and Star Network.
Besides writing to the three channel networks, the Corporation held direct talks with the representatives of the three channels, but they refused to link up with Arasu Cable TV Corporaiton, in violation of TRAI rules, the release said.
Hence, the Corporation has initiated legal action under the provisions of central Act to get the links of the three channels, the release said.
Even while inaugurating the Arasu Cable, Chief Minister M Karunanidhi had said some networks were yet to take a decision on linking up with Arasu Cable and the Corporation would take appropriate legal action.
