4 more succumb to rain-related diseases during weekend
Mumbai, Aug 4 (UNI) Four more people succumbed to rain-related the diseases in the city, taking the death toll to 69, since the onset of monsoon this year.
According to civic officials, out of the four people, who died during the weekend, three people have died due to malaria, taking the number of deaths due to malaria to 27.
The officials said all the four patients were men and three died at KEM hospital and one at Nair hospital.
At least 289 patients have been admitted to various civic-run hospitals in the last 24 hours. Of them, 204 people have been admitted with fever, 52 with gastroenteritis, three with leptospirosis and 30 with malaria, the officials added.
