Manmohan holds talks with Koirala and Gayoom in Colombo
Colombo, Aug 3 : Prime Minister Manmohan Singh held bilateral talks with his counterpart from Nepal Girija Prasad Koirala and Maldives President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom here on Sunday on the sidelines of the second day of the 15th SAARC Summit.
According to official sources, Koirala briefed Dr. Singh on the internal situation in his country. In response, Dr. Singh said that India wants stability and reign of democracy in Nepal and adding that 'New Delhi is impressed by Kathmandu's democratic transition so far including the conduct of the elections.'
Similarly, Dr. Singh and President Gayoom reviewed bilateral relations and expressed satisfaction with the state of the relationship that exists between India and Maldives.
The two also discussed the 'SAARC process' as the next SAARC Summit is scheduled to be held in the Maldives.
