TDP maintains Adikeshavulu Naidu voted for UPA
Hyderabad, Aug 2 (UNI) The Telugu Desam Party today maintained that it had evidence to show that its former Chittoor MP Adikeshavulu Naidu voted for the UPA Government during the trust vote in violation of the party whip.
Addressing a press conference here, TDP MP E Dayakar Rao and party Polit Bureau member N Janardhan Reddy asked why the expelled MP did not not vote using the electronic voting system as directed by the party.
It was not proper for the former TDP man to find fault with paty leader K Yerran Naidu for complaining to the Speaker, they said.
It was now now for the Speaker to decide on the complaint filed by Mr Naidu, they said, adding that as far as the party was concerned, only three of the five MPs voted as per the party directive.
The party in Chittoor district, native of TDP President N Chandrababu Naidu, was strong even before Mr Adikeshavulu Naidu joined it and even after his expulsion, they maintained.
It may be recalled, the TDP expelled Mr Adikeshavulua Naidu and M Jaganatham for cross voting during the trust vote.
