Protestors gherao Farooq, Mehbooba at Jammu airport

Jammu, Aug 1 (UNI) Thousands of protestors today gheraoed former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister and National Conference patron Farooq Abdullah and Peoples Democratic Party president Mehbooba Mufti on their arrival at the technical airport in Jammu.

''Both Dr Abdullah and Ms Mufti reached here in the morning to attend the All Party meeting called by Governor N N Vohra at Raj Bhawan,'' sources told UNI.

On receiving information about the arrival of the NC patron and the PDP chief, thousands of protestors gathered outside the airport and should slogans against the National Conference and PDP.

''Around 5000 protestors, including women, reached the Jammu airport chanting 'bam-bam bhole' and surrounded Ms Mufti and Dr.

Abdullah,'' sources said, adding that they were not allowed to proceed towards the Raj Bhawan.

However, both of them were likely to be flown to the Raj Bhawan to participate in the meeting called on the ongoing Amarnath land transfer row.

The Winter Capital today observed a complete shutdown on the ninth consecutive day against the revocation of the land transfer order.
