One killed, three injured as car falls in distributory canal

Fatehgarh Sahib, Aug 1 (UNI) A former Sarpanch was killed and three others were injured when their car fell into a distributory canal near Khamano in the district.

They were returning from a party when the car driver lost control while taking a sharp turn due to which the vehicle fell into the minor canal.

Passerby rescued the four persons and admitted them to the hospital where Gurjit Singh succumbed to his injuries later.

The injured including Nagar Panchayat Khamano president Gian Chand, Kesar Singh and Mewa Singh were later discharged, police said.

Gurjit Singh was created at Mohali.
