Nepali Congress suggests a Government without Maoists

Kathmandu, Aug 1 : Nepali Congress (NC) today proposed the CPN-UML to form a new Government in Nepal without the presence of the Maoists.

According to UML leader Bharat Mohan Adhikari, the Nepali Congress leaders forwarded the proposal at the meeting held at UML party office here.

"Nepali Congress leaders claim that the Maoist did not implement the agreements made prior and later the Constituent Assembly (CA) polls," he added.

"Nepali Congress leaders said that it would be better to form the government in the presence of the Nepali Congress, the UML, the Madhesi People's Rights Forum (MPRF) and other parties without the Maoists," Kantipur quoted Adhikari, as saying.

Adhikari further said that the agreement has been made to wait for the proposal to be forwarded by the Maoists to the other parties after their central committee meeting for the formation of the next government.

He also said that along with the proposal they will be conducting another meeting later.

During the meeting, the UML gave importance to the Nepal national consensus and expressed that Maoists cannot be left behind while forming the Government in Nepal.
