Prince William's girlfriend prefers to be an 'ordinary person'

London, July 31 : She might be dating Britain's future King but Kate Middleton prefers to be an ordinary person.

The cabin crew of British Airways (BA) were startled when the Prince Williams' girlfriend refused an upgrade to first class and insisted on being treated like a regular passenger.

She asked the staff to call her by her name and said "Please call me Kate."

"She may be dating the future king but she's so down to earth. It's the first time we have had a passenger turn down the chance of an upgrade," The Sun quoted BA staff as saying.

Meanwhile Middleton is set to join William this week after he leaves warship HMS Iron Duke.

They would be spending next week the Caribbean island of Mustique.
