Kerala HC denies bail to accused in Poovarani sex scandal

Kochi, Jul 30 (UNI) The Kerala High Court today denied bail to the two main accused in the Poovarani sex scandal case, in which a schoolgirl, who was sexually exploited over the past two years, died of AIDS recently.

Justice K Hema dismissed the bail applications filed by Lissey Tomy and Jomini Jyothish, who were accused no one and two in the case, after the prosecution strongly opposed their pleas and also demanded that the accused face trial in the jail itself.

The court held that considering the facts, it was not a fit case to grant bail.
