Pondy minister receives threatening letter

Puducherry, Jul 29 (UNI) Puducherry Education Minister M O H F Shajahan today received a letter threatening to kill him in a bomb attack.

The threat was received in an inland letter under the banner of 'Puducherry Theevravatha Maanavargal Peravai.' The letter warned that he would be killed by planting a bomb either in his office, his car or at his residence.

He was targeted for his alleged involvement in obtaining bribes from private medical college managements and depriving the rights of students, the letter claimed.

Since the minister was away in New Delhi, his Private Secretary Kannan handed over the letter to the DGP.
