One worker killed and 15 injured as lift crashes
Gulbarga, July 29 (UNI) One worker was killed and 15 others injured, three of them seriously, when the lift in which they were taking a heavy motor caved in at Rajeshwari cement factory at Malkhaid in Sedam taluk in Gulbarga district today.
Police said 16 factory workers were taking a huge motor in the lift. But the overloaded lift caved in, killing one of them on the spot. The deceased was identified as Shafi Maiddin (32).
The injured were being treated in the Sedam Government Hospital.
The labourers, hailing from Uttar Pradesh, were working as contract labourers in the factory.
