Karunanidhi asks state police to maintain vigil
Chennai, July 27 (UNI)Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi today orderd the state police to act swifty in order to prevent any untoward incident in the state in the wake of serial bomb blasts occurred in Bangalore and Ahmedabad.
On a tip off, the Tirunelveli Police were alerted that one Abdul Kafoor, aged 39 son of Sevukhan of Pettai, Tirunelveli City has planned to bring timer devices in Chennai to trigger off bombs.
Later, the police conducted a search at his residence and seized 21 gadgets including one clock mechanism for using in bombs, two model electric circuit, three battery cells and four plastic containers.
The accused has been arrested and is being interrogated to find out his associates.
