Haryana Police to install 500 CCTV cameras in Gurgaon
Gurgaon, Jul 28 (UNI) In view of the recent bomb blasts in Bangalore and Ahmedabad, the Haryana Police has intensified the drive to install close circuit television (CCTV) cameras at several sites on nationl highways, roundabouts, parks, shopping malls and other public places.
An official spokesman said under the long term strategy 500 CCTV cameras were to be installed in Gurgaon.
He said after installing cameras at the main roundabouts in the city, these would also be installed in shopping malls and adjoining high rise building so as to keep an eye on anti-social elements.
Meanwhile, the Gurgaon Police has arrested five cyber cafe owners in DLF phase-2 for not installing CCTV cameras in their cyber cafe and not maintaining the identity records of the customers.
The spokesman said in Gurgaon it is mandatory for the cafes owners to install CCTV cameras in the cafes and keep identity records of the customers using such facility.
