Uddhav to have a low-key birthday celebration tomorrow
Thane, Jul 26 (UNI) Shiv Sena Executive President Uddhav Thackeray today said considering the law and order situtation following the serial bomb blasts in Ahmedabad and Bangalore, he did not want to celebrate his birthday tomorrow on a grand scale.
He asked the Sainiks and well wishers not to bring flowers or sweets for his birthday.
Mr Thackeray was talking to media after attending a function here tonight.
Replying to questions as to what will be his message for the people of the state on his birthday, he said he was concerned about the law and order situation in the country.
He said ''there has been a series of bomb explosions in Ahmedabad today and yesterday, there were serial bomb blasts in Bengaluru.
''What I and my party need are blessings and well wishes from the people of the state. Hence, they should desist from bringing any flowers or sweets. Their wishes will suffice,'' he said.
In reply to a query, he said ''the UPA Government was saved just' a couple of days ago. Everyone knows how it was saved. Now, they should think of saving the country and work towards it,'' he added.
The incidents that have occurred during the past two days have raised doubt as to whether the government exists at all, he wondered.
