TN Govt hikes wages of loadmen
Chennai, July 26 (UNI) The Tamil Nadu Government today announced the hike of wages of loadmen from the present five per cent to ten per cent.
Chief Minister M Karunanidhi ordered the wage hike following a representation from the loadmen and considering their welfare, an official release here said.
This would benefit about 18,000 loadmen, working in state Civil Supplies Corporation, direct procurements centres and Railway godowns, it said.
The Chief Minister also announced that the wags of loadmen would be revised once in three years, instead of once in five years, the release added.
