Hisar eye-surgeon chosen as brand ambassador of WHO

Hisar, Jul 26 (UNI) World Health Organistion (WHO) has appointed a Hisar based eye surgeon, Dr Ashok Garg, as brand ambassador for Ophthalmology.

According to a communication from WHO headquarters at Geneva, the appointment has been made in recognisation of Dr Ashok Garg's international achievements in ophthalmology.

Dr Garg is the first Asian eye surgeon, who has been selected for this important post. He has also been made a permanent member of international programme of prevention of blindness.

Last year, his name was included in the prestigious Guiness Book of World Records and Limca Book of Records for writing maximum number of ophthalmology books.
