Committee appointed to look into allegation of offer of money
New Delhi, Jul 26 (UNI) Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee today appointed a seven-member Committee to inquire into the complaint by three BJP Members of Parliament regarding alleged offer of money to them in connection with voting on the Confidence Motion in Lok Sabha on July 22.
The Committee, Chaired by Mr V Kishore Chandra S Deo of the Congress, has been asked to submit its report by August 11, a statement by the Lok Sabha Secretariat said here.
The Committee also includes Prof Vijay Kumar Malhotra (BJP), Mohammed Salim (CPM), Prof Ram Gopal Yadav (Samajwadi Party), Mr Devendra Prasad Yadav (RJD), Mr Rajesh Verma (BSP) and Mr C Kuppusami (DMK).
Three BJP members Ashok Argal, Mahavir Bhagora and Faggan Singh Kulaste, had in writing yesterday complained to the Lok Sabha Speaker that they were offered money for voting on the Confidence Motion moved by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on July 22.
