Kohima, Jul 26 (UNI) Congress Legislature Party (CLP) leader Chingwang Konyak has demanded apology from BJP leader M C Konyak for levelling allegations against the CLP leader of luring Democratic Alliance of Nagaland (DAN) MP Wangyuh Konyak for voting in favour of the UPA on Tuesday.

A release issued here today by the secretary of the CLP leader stated that the Congress also threatened to take legal action against the BJP leader if he failed to apologise publicly.

BJP leader and state Forest and Excise Minister M C Konyak had alleged that the Congress had connived with and purchased Wangyuh Konyak to vote in favour of the trust motion of the UPA.

Stating that the name of the CLP leader had been dragged into controversy by levelling unfounded allegations against him, the Congress demanded the BJP leader to either substantiate the allegations or tender apology within a week ''so as not to attract legal proceedings against him.'' Meanwhile, the leaders of the Konyak tribe in the DAN alliance demanded stern action against Wangyuh Konyak, alleging that his actions had not only brought great shame to his own party the Nagaland Peoples Front (NPF), but he had also betrayed the people of the state.
