SBI provides scholarships to 70 orphans
Kolkata, Jul 25 (UNI) The State Bank of India (SBI) has funded the educational expenses of 70 girl orphans of the Calcutta Muslim Orphanage and provided a scholarship of Rs 5,000 to each of the children.
An SBI release issued here stated that the bank, represented by its Chief General Manager, Bengal circle, Jayanta Kumar Sinha, and other senior functionaries, handed over the cheques to the girls in the presence of MP Md Salim and state Labour Minister Anadi Kumar Sahoo yesterday.
The 116-year old orphanage provides food, shelter, clothing, education and all necessary requirements to about 500 orphans, both boys and girls.
