Red alert sounded in UP after blasts in Bangalore
Lucknow, Jul 25 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh has been put on ''red alert,'' following today's blasts in Bangalore.
Giving this information, Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) (Law and Order) Brijlal said necessary directions had been passed to all the police heads in districts, Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIGs), Inspectors and railway officials.
The sleuths had been asked to beef-up security cover in the state, the ADGP added.
Besides, a close vigil was being maintained at public places, including religious spots, railway stations, bus stands, malls and shopping complexes.
Vehicle checking drive was also underway in the state, Mr Brijlal informed.
A similar alert was sounded in UP after the July 5, 2005 blast in Ayodhya, March 7, 2006 blast at Sankat Mochan temple in Varanasi and November 23, 2007 court' blasts in Varanasi, Lucknow and Faizabad.
Serial blasts had also rocked Pink city Jaipur recently.
