Nepal President consults lawyers

Kathmandu, July 25 : Nepal President Dr Ram Baran Yadav has begun consultations with legal experts in a move to call on political parties to form a new Government in Nepal.

According to Kantipur, President Yadav met Attorney General Yagya Murti Banjade, senior advocate Sindhu Nath Pyakurel and lawyers Harihar Dahal, Badri Bahadur Karki, Shambhu Thapa and Surya Dhungel at his office on Thursday.

During the meeting, the lawyers suggested that the President should ask political parties to forge a consensus on forming the new Government under Article 38 (1) of the Interim Constitution.

They also advised the President to call on political parties who succeed in showing majority in the Constituent Assembly (CA) to form the government in case the political parties fail to forge consensus.

Besides, the lawyers also urged the President to begin consultations with leaders of the political parties to form the government.
