Mah Govt to amend DC rules for parking
Mumbai, Jul 25 (UNI) The Maharashtra government today told the Assembly that an amendment to the development control rules and allotting more floor space index (FSI) for development of private parking lots in the city and suburubs would happen within a month's time.
An announcment to this effect was made by Minister of State for Urban Development Rajesh Tope to a calling attention motion by Leader of the Opposition Ramdas Kadam and others.
A proposal in this regard has been sent by Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), and it is under active consideration.
Members from both the sides said the increase in number of cars and lack of parking lots in the city were causing problems for the people. Therefore, some immediate decision is needed.
They also said there are lack of parking lots near the religious places like Siddhivinayak Temple, Mahalaxmi Temple and others.
On that, Mr Tope replied that a proposal for underground parking lot near Siddhivinayak temple is under consideration.
