Lawyers strike hits court work in the town
Puducherry,Jul 25: Lawyers here who are on an indefinite boycott of courts to protest the amendment to recruitment rules for judges on Friday, July 25, took out a procession through the thoroughfares of the town and submitted memoranda to the Lt Governor, Chief Minister and Law Minister on their demands.
They also sought priority for Puducherry lawyers in appointment of judges here. Functioning of the courts had been affected for the last few days due to agitations by the lawyers.
