The decision to constitute the Committee was taken during a meeting between Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and Railway Board Chairman Kalyan Kumar Jena here.

Mr Jena, who called on the Chief Minister to discuss various problems in executing railway projects in the state, later told mediapersons that the Committee, under the chairmanship of the Chief Secretary, would sit once a month to sort out problems related to the ongoing projects.

Secretaries of the Commerce and Transport, Industry, Urban and Housing, Steel and Mines, General Administrations and Revenue ministries would be members of the ommittee, besides two senior officers from the Railways.

Mr Jena said land acquisition was a major problem in the state, which was delaying the completion of the ongoing railway projects.
