Court rejects Maria's bail application

Mumbai, Jul 25 (UNI) A local court today rejected the bail application of Maria Monica Susairaj, co-accused in the murder of top executive with a television production house, Neeraj Grover.

Rejecting the bail application, Additional Session Judge R T Mahajan said prima facie a case has been made out against her from the documents, which were provided to the court by the prosecution.

Mr Mahajan went through the DNA report of Susairaj in the court.

Thereafter, he rejected the bail.

Maria was arrested with her naval officer boyfriend Jerome Mathew for the murder of Neeraj Grover, creative head at Synergy Adlabs, a TV production house, in May this year.

Maria had filed the bail plea last month, claiming that she could only be charged for destruction of evidence, which is a bailable offence.

The prosecution in its reply had pointed to the court that the circumstantial evidence was against Susairaj, effectively, she could be charged not only for destruction of evidence but also for murder.

Grover was stabbed to death allegedly by Mathew inside Susairaj's apartment in suburban Malad on May seven over a suspected love triangle. His body was reportedly chopped into pieces and burnt at Manor in Thane rural.
