BJP, Left and JD (S) condemn bomb blasts in Bangalore
New Delhi, Jul 25 : The Bharatiya Janata Party and the Left today condemned the serial blasts in Bangalore and accused the Centre of failing to uncover the terror network responsible for such attacks.
BJP president Rajnath Singh said the serial blasts underline the growing threat of terrorism, which the country continues to face.
The CPI(M) Politburo said in a statement that it is a matter of concern that the Centre has so far failed to uncover the network behind these nefarious activities.
Condemning the Bangalore blasts, it said "it is high time that intelligence and security agencies track down the culprits responsible."
In a separate statement, the CPI Central Secretariat said it was a "sinister attempt to disturb communal harmony and destabilise our society". The party demanded a through probe to pin down the culprits.
Janata Dal (S) president H D Deve Gowda expressed "shock and outrage" at the loss of precious lives and injuries caused by the serial bomb blasts.
He urged the Centre and the state government "to sink their party differences and unitedly combat the scourge of terrorism, which has become a threat to our very survival as a nation".
However, Congress rubbished the opposition's charges that the Centre is soft on the terrorists.
"The Centre is not soft on terrorists," party spokesman Shakeel Ahmed said.
