240 colour TV sets gutted in fire
Tuticorin, July 25 (UNI) In a suspected case of sabotage, about 240 colour television sets meant for free supply to ration card holders by the Tamil Nadu government, were gutted in a fire mishap at a panchayat office at Maravanmadam village, near here, late last night.
According to reports reaching here, the television sets were stored in the panchayat office for distribution on today. Before the fire tenders could arrive at the spot, the television sets were totally destroyed.
Police suspect that the panchayat office might have been set on fire by some unidentified culprits. Senior police officials rushed to the spot to probe the incident.
