Altair Engineering signs MoU with Hyderabad varsity

{image-Altair Engineering India_23072008.jpg news.oneindia.in}Hyderabad, Jul 23: Altair Engineering India, a leading global provider of technology and services and Grid Computing, on Wednesday, July 23, announced the signing of a MoU with The University of Hyderabad(UoH).

Collaboration of Altair Engineering and the varsity through various student internships and research projects were in the focused areas of next generation Web Service-based Grid services, Graphical User Interface (GUI) based configuration and administration modules of Grid, Single Sign-on based Grid computing projects and other areas of mutual interest as identified during the MoU validity period, according to a release here.

R and D work would be conducted in the areas of utilisation of commercial grade technology portal solutions in the areas of Computer Aided Engineering, Life Sciences, 3D animation and Visual Effects Graphics.

A new certification programme would be launched under the aegis of University of Hyderabad, where Altair would be the technology provider and UoH the Certification agency. Further, training and teaching in these areas, training by members of Altair Grid Technologies, India, and select customers on various subject areas would be an integral part of knowledge sharing.

Altair Engineering India Managing Director Pavan Kumar said ''We, as a company, are focused on developing next-generation products; our goal through this partnership is to enable the Post Graduate students for the state-of-the-art work on various aspects of PBS GridWorks -- technology suite both on commercial utility grids and academic research oriented grids.''
