Pak High Commission official jumps to death in London
London, July 19 : A Defence Section official of the Pakistan High Commission in London committed suicide last evening by jumping from the fourth floor of the high commission building. He was recently posted here.
Sources at the High Commission said that Munir Ahmed, who worked as an assistant in the Naval section of the High Commission, jumped out of the toilet window at around 3.30 p.m.
He stayed alone in London, and is survived by his wife and five children, reported The News.
The incident has raised many probing questions here as to what might have forced the father of five children to go for such an act, particularly when he was posted in the UK on his own will.
Munir Ahmed's shocking death might become a source of new trouble for the Pakistan government because he was posted in a sensitive section of the embassy.
According to the paper, the London Police have already launched investigations and questioned the concerned staff of the Pakistan High Commission, particularly officials of the Defence Section.
