Minor injured in accidental fire in Poonch
Jammu, Jul 19 (UNI) A minor boy was critically injured when a service weapon of his father went off in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir, police sources here today said.
They said the 5-year old boy was seriously wounded when the service weapon of his father, serving in Special Operation Group (SOG) of the Jammu and Kashmir Police Department went off as his daughter was playing with the weapon.
''The gun accidentally went off and a bullet hit the stomach of a boy identified as Irfan leaving him into a pool of blood,'' the sources said.
The boy was immediately shifted to a nearby hospital from where he was referred to the Government Medical College Hospital where his condition is stated to be stable, the sources added.
