Jewellery worth Rs 20 lakhs looted
Mangalore, Jul 17 (UNI) Four unidentified miscreants robbed gold ornaments worth about Rs 20 lakh from a Rajasthani in the city last night.
Police said Eshwar Purval was going to his lodge with the gold ornaments kept in a suitcase when the culprits attacked him from behind with a club and robbed the jewellery and mobile phone, and escaped in a waiting car.
The jeweller, who sustained injuries was admitted to government Wenlock Hospital.
Mr Purval arrived in the city yesterday to sell gold ornaments.
He was a regular visitor to the city for this business, police added.
