Earth Quake of 5.2 intensity rocks China

Beijing, Jul 15: A moderate earthquake measuring 5.2 on the Richter scale, struck parts of China this afternoon, the met department said.

The tremors were felt in Central China near Chengdu city at 1456 hrs at 31.5 degrees North latitude and 104.1 degrees east longitude.A devastating quake earlier which struck southwestern China on May 12 had killed 69,181 people and led to another 18,498 missing.The magnitude 7.9 quake devastated Sichuan province and surrounding areas, and left more than five million people homeless.
