CII in K'taka launches 'Namma Halli' CSR project
Bangalore, Jul 14 (UNI) The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) in Karnataka, launched 'Namma Halli' CSR project today. Under the project members of the Confederation would adopt backward villages and Gram Panchayats in the state and contribute directly to its development.
The project intends to facilitate a direct connection between the industry and the development work at the grassroot level, CII Karnataka Region Chairman N Viswanathan said.
Speaking at the launch, he said the project symbolises and inspire industries to join hands in an organised manner with the ongoing effort of the Karnataka government and the civil society to bridge the development gap.
CII is supported by Srinivasa Services Trust (SST) to achieve this goal.
The three-year project would infuse of funds to the tune of RS 30,000 per gram panchayat. Five industry sponsors had sofar come forward for the project.
The focus areas were economic development, agriculture development, livestock management, health, education and youth development and waste management, Mr Vishwanathan said.
