Five-member gang loots Rs 15 lakh cash, jewellery

Hubli, July 12: A five-member dacoit gang has struck at a house of a trader in the city and decamped with Rs 15 lakh in cash and huge quantity of gold and silver ornaments.

Police said the dacoits entered the house forcibly last night and threatened the family members with lethal weapons. After locking them in a room they searched the house and decamped with the booty.

A special police team has been formed to nab the culprits. Dog squads and fingerprint experts visited the spot.

The dacoits were speaking in Kannada, police added.
