TN Govt proposes to build housing units with WB aid
Chennai, Jul 10 (UNI) Tamil Nadu Government has proposed to build 6,500 housing units, with the help of World Bank, to rehabilitate fishermen, who had lost their houses in Tsunami.
Chief Minister M Karunanidhi saw some of the models and designs of the housing units, presented to him at the Secretariat today, an official release said.
The housing units to rehabilitate fishermen affected from Nochikuppam to Srinivasapuram coastal areas, would be built with World Bank assistance to the tune of Rs 293 crore, it said.
Minister for Slum Clearance Suba Thangavelan and Housing Secretary R Chellamuthu were present on the occasion, the release added.
