Man commits suicide fearing police action in TN

Chennai, Jul 8: A man allegedly committed suicide fearing police action after he assaulted his paramour at Valasaravakkam area in adjoining Chengai-East police district late last night.

Police said Vivekanandan was having an extra-marital affair with the woman.

Following a wordy duel, the man, in a fit of rage, assaulted her. The woman later reported the incident to her husband, who filed a complaint with the police.

Fearing police action, Vivekanandan took the extreme step by hanging himself from the ceiling fan.

The body was taken to hospital for post-mortem.
