Kerala to ban use of mobile phones by minors
Thiruvananhapuram, Jul 8: Home Minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan today told the Kerala Assembly that the state government will ban the use of mobile phones in the Higher Secondary Schools.
Replying to a submission moved by Kerala Congress-(M) leader N Jayaraj said the government would take steps to ban the use of mobile phones by minors in view of their misuse.
Mr Balakrishnan said as many as 14 cases had been registered in connection with mobile crimes, including threatening people and taking pornographic pictures.
He also said cyber-crimes were on the rise in the state.
