Inflation may soar to 13-14 pc in few months: BJP

New Delhi, Jul 4 (UNI) The BJP today claimed inflation rate was likely to tip the scales at around 13-14 per cent in a few months as the ''desperate ruling UPA government seems to have taken no step to contain the spiralling prices.'' ''The rising inflation is a result of worst kind of opportunistic politics of the ruling UPA government which had 'ganged up' with other parties for the sole purpose of preventing the BJP from forming the government four years ago. The break up in the ruling alliance, the Congress has strained relations with the Left parties over the nuclear deal in the recent weeks-- is only waiting to happen as the Congress formed an alliance with the Left only to keep the BJP from forming government at the Centre,'' BJP spokesman Ravishankar Prasad alleged.

He said the UPA had proved to be a ''temporary platform'' for these forces.

Mr Prasad alleged the UPA allies provided support to the Manmohan Singh government because none of them wanted elections and things could have worsened during the last three-and-a-half years.

The government has no explantion about the rising prices as there were no takers for their alibis offered when the inflation figures touched the double-digit for the first time in 13 years.
