Curfew to be relaxed for an hour in Jammu
Jammu, Jul 4 (UNI) The administration today decided to allow an hour-long relaxation in curfew in two police station areas of Jammu which has been rocked by violent protests against the revocation of the land transfer order to the Shri Amarnath Shrine Board.
''Curfew will be relaxed for an hour from 1700 hrs to 1800 hrs in Bakshi Nagar and Janipur police station areas,'' an official spokesman said.
The authorities were reviewing the situation periodically.
Indefinite curfew was imposed in the winter capital on Tuesday after massive protests broke out against the revocation of the land transfer order.
More than 60 people were injured yesterday in stepped up protests and life in Jammu province came to a grinding halt with the entire region, including remote villages, observing a complete shutdown in support of the ''Bharat Bandh'' call given by the VHP against the state government's decision.
