Aarogya scheme to be implemented in AP from July 17
Hyderabad, Jul 4 (UNI) Aarogya Sree Health Insurance Scheme, aimed at providing quality healthcare to the poor people free of cost, would be implemented in Andhra Pradesh from July 17, State Minister for Medical Education Galla Arunakumari said today.
Inaugurating the Rajiv Aarogyasri Wards at the Osmania General Hospital here, she said at present, the scheme was being implemented in 13 districts. The scheme aims at providing quality treatment for major ailments for the poor people at the corporate hospitals free of cost, she added.
Stating that the scheme was helpful for the poor people in the State, the minister said the government was creating awareness among the people on the benefits of the scheme through the Aarogya Mithra volunteers.
Ms Arunakumari said the patients' inflow to the Osmania Hospital would increase and asked the hospital authorities to take measures for enhancing the facilities to treat the patients. She also interacted with the patients undergoing treatment in the hospital.
Andhra Pradesh Minister for BC Welfare M Mukesh Goud and MP Anjan Kumar Yadav, were among others, who attended the function.
