Pak, India to kickstart fifth round of peace talks this month

Islamabad, Jul 3 (UNI) Pakistan Foreign Secretary Salman Bashir will visit New Delhi to kickstart the fifth round of Composite Dialogue with his Indian counterpart Shivshankar Menon later this month.

''The two Foreign Secretaries will met on July 21-22,'' Pakistan Foreign Office spokesman Muhammad Sadiq told a press briefing here today.

Mr Sadiq said the two sides would exchange views on all the eight components of the dialogue, including Jammu and Kashmir and peace and security, and work out a schedule of meetings for the year.

When asked about progress on release of prisoners by the two countries, he said in pursuance of the decision of the Judicial Committee on prisoners, Pakistan has provided a list of prisoners to India.

''However, Indian External Affairs Ministry has conveyed that it was still awaiting input from concerned offices to finalise a list of Pakistani prisoners in Indian jails,'' the spokesman added.
