Nine killed in landslide in Southeastern Bangladesh
Dhaka, Jul 3 (UNI) Nine members of two families were killed and three others injured in landslide triggered by heavy downpour in Bangladesh's southeastern district of Cox's Bazar today.
Officer-in-Charge of Teknaf Thana Jasimuddin said the thatched house of day labourer Nurul Alam collapsed when a huge chunk of mud from a nearby hill fell on it while he and his family members were asleep.
Alam's four children died on the spot while he and his wife Rashida Begum received injuries.
At the same time, another house collapsed due to landslide at Puran Pallanpara village, killing Abu Tayub, his three children and a relative on the spot.
Tayub's wife was also injured.
