Two militants and a soldier killed in Kashmir

Srinagar, Jun 27 (UNI) Two militants and a soldier were killed and another jawan was wounded in a fierce encounter in the central Kashmir district of Ganderbal, official sources said.

They said Special Operation Group (SOG) of Jammu and Kashmir police and Army launched a joint operation at Kachpathri Mamar in Kagan area this morning following a tip-off about the presence of militants there.

During the search operation an encounter ensued in which two militants were killed.

A soldier also laid down his life and other was wounded, they said adding two ak rifles and other arms and ammunition were recovered from the slain militants.
