Rare distinction for MP airport
Indore, June 26 (UNI) The Devi Ahilyabai Holkar Airport here has become India's first domestic airport to have received certificates for quality, environmental health and the safety system.
''The Airport, from where 24 flights take off daily, is the first in the country to obtain the Occupational Health and Safety Advisory Service (OHSAS) certificate,'' Airport Director R K Singh said today.
Work began in June-July last year under the Coordinated Management System and, after meeting the System's standards, the (International Organisation for Standardisation) ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 certificates were received.
''As soon as immigration clearance is obtained, international flights will be started,'' said Mr Singh.
