Pakistan premier Gilani to visit US in July

{image-gi lani_26062008.jpg news.oneindia.in}Islamabad, Jun 26: Pakistan Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani will undertake his first official visit to the United States next month(July).

The Prime Minister will have a working lunch with US President George W Bush at the Oval Office during his July 27-28 stay in Washington, the Dawn reported on June 25. Mr Gilani is also scheduled to meet Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, Defence Secretary Robert Gates and other senior officials of the US administration. The Pakistan Embassy is also trying to arrange his meetings with the Republican and Democratic candidates for the US presidential election.

The Prime Minister will also meet senior US lawmakers, particularly those from the Democratic Party.
