Indo-Bangla media meet on June 30 to better bilateral relations
Kolkata, Jun 26 (UNI) Justifying the importance of the Fourth Estate in democracy, about 50 delegates from Bangladesh and Indian Media fraternity will participate in a conference here on June 30 to help strengthen the bilateral relations between the two countries.
The conference is a brainchild of South Asian Free Media Association (SAFMA), an organisation of eminent journalists of South Asia, recognised by South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC).
SAFNA has planned the conference as part of its efforts to promote understanding at various levels in South Asia.
The media meet, scheduled to be held at West Bengal Assembly, will be inaugurated by External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee. West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee is among other distinguished personalities to be present on the occasion.
